Let's Talk
Hello Everyone,
How are your diet plans working so far this year. Remember it's never easy letting go of the foods that we love; but, we have to keep in mind that we are doing this for our health. Try to find something to eat in it's place that is just as satisfying that you can have instead. For example I love chocolate, instead of eating milk chocolate I now eat dark chocolate. I don't eat it that often, only when I have a chocolate craving; and I love the chocolate covered almonds.
Also, I love crunchy foods such as potatoe chips. Instead of having chips for lunch I eat Quaker Oat Squares, they are really good; my son even like them. And they are a very healthy snack 1 cup has only 190 calories, 5 grams of fiber and you are also getting 90% of your daily requirement of Iron. You can not go wrong eating these cereal as a snack.
What are some ideals that you can share with me? I would love to hear from you.

Hello
Do you have any suggestions on how to handle craving for sweets?
Adrian
Yes, you have to find a healthy alternative to the sweets that you love. For instance, when I crave sweets I will buy some of those Chocolate Fiber one bars. Believe me when I say that they are really good. Not only are they going to cure that sweet tooth but, they will also give you 9 grams of fiber and only have 140 calories a bar; and remember there is nothing wrong with having a candy bar every now and then, if you want to have one though, I suggest that you stick to dark chocolates and read the label first if it has more than 160 calories I wouldn't eat it. Hershey has some really good dark chocloate candy bars. They even sell the smaller ones in the bulk section of the grocery store. Buy one of each kind just to see what one you like the most.
Fresh fruits are also good alternative to sweet cravings. One important thing that I would like to add is that if you are a big sweet eater like I use to be, you will have to add some discipline in there as well. Remember you are in charge of your flesh, you cannot allow your flesh to be in control of you.
I made a mistake it isn’t Hershey candy, its Ghirardelli candy bars; I just went to the store and bought one. I bought the caramel bar and it has 180 calories (that’s not bad) and 2 grams of fiber.
