ARE YOU GETTING ENOUGH SLEEP LADIES?

PlEASE READ A CLIP OF AN ARTICLE THAT I PASTED BELOW REGARDING GETTING PROPER SLEEP.

FRIDAY, March 21 (HealthDay News) -- Women suffer more damage to their cardiovascular health from poor sleep than men do, and researchers at Duke University Medical Center believe they've determined why.
They found that poor sleep is associated with greater psychological distress and higher levels of biomarkers associated with increased risk of type 2 diabetes and heart disease. They also found that these associations are stronger in women than in men.

If you would like to read more on this, you may do so by clicking on the link that I have provided for youhttp://www.everydayhealth.com/publicsite/ShowArticle.aspx?IsP=news/613/news613444.xml&cen=HC:%20Hypertension; and PLEASE make sure that you are getting enough sleep everynight. There is a million and one reason why we don't get enough sleep, but guess what... you can't do it all that night and it really can wait til the next day. Your Health is so much more important, so please 7 hours is the very minium amount of sleep that you should be getting everynight, 8 is ideal. I know some people that tell me that they only get about 5 hours and say that they feel fine; and while that might be true for now, it will catch up to them one day, because it's not fine. I have also read several reports that link obesity to not getting the proper sleep. So let's get better at taken care of ourselves.

LETS EAT BETTER, DRINK PLENTLY OF WATER, GET THE PROPER AMOUNT OF SLEEP AND MIX SOME EXCERSING UP IN THERE TO WHILE YOU AT IT.

LET'S PUT THIS IN A DIFFERNT FORMAT.

EATING BETTER
+DRINKING PLENTLY OF WATER
+GETTING THE PROPER SLEEP
+EXCERSING = A HEALTHIER YOU. "WOW", I THINK I AM WORTH IT AND SO ARE YOU!

I FINALLY JOINED A GYM!!!

Well, I did it....I finally joined a Gym and I love it. My son and I are now member of the BAC, last night was our first time going and we both loved it and can't wait to go back. They make working out fun; they have TVs on almost all of the workout equipment in one of the rooms in there, all you have to do is bring your own head set and you get to watch TV as you are working out! How Awesome is that!!!

I am looking forward to going again tonight and working out. My goal is to take off 20 pounds by July, I plan on going to North Carolina to visit with my sister and brother and I want to go to the beach while I am there and wear a really nice bathing suit.

Are you all working on your goals, I know it's tough but, you can do it! LET ME KNOW WHAT ARE DOING. Do you need pointers? Do you have some advice that you would like to share? WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS?

Are you all following a New diet plan?

Hello,

I have been doing alot of thinking lately about things that we can do together, I am still on the right track with my eating; however, I have not made it to the GYM yet. Is there anyone who is on the right track as far as going to the GYM is concerned and now needs help getting on the right track of eating better. Maybe you and I can get together and work on a plan. It is so important to be doing both.

It's really not enough to only be doing good in one area. Yes, making progress is always better than doing nothing. But... I want more, I want to look as good as I feel. Any suggestion!!!!

Please take a look at the interview that I did at TOPS with one of there Nutritionist their, she had a lot of wonderful ideals on how to eat healthy while living on a budget. To get to the video click on the Angela's bio link to the right, once on that page you will see a tv screen with peppers on it click there, that is the video.

Let's Talk

Hello Everyone,

How are your diet plans working so far this year. Remember it's never easy letting go of the foods that we love; but, we have to keep in mind that we are doing this for our health. Try to find something to eat in it's place that is just as satisfying that you can have instead. For example I love chocolate, instead of eating milk chocolate I now eat dark chocolate. I don't eat it that often, only when I have a chocolate craving; and I love the chocolate covered almonds.

Also, I love crunchy foods such as potatoe chips. Instead of having chips for lunch I eat Quaker Oat Squares, they are really good; my son even like them. And they are a very healthy snack 1 cup has only 190 calories, 5 grams of fiber and you are also getting 90% of your daily requirement of Iron. You can not go wrong eating these cereal as a snack.

What are some ideals that you can share with me? I would love to hear from you.

Let's Make Better Choices for the New Year

Hello Everyone,

Well we did it, we got through the two biggest holidays known for over eating (Thanksgiving and Christmas).

How do you think you did for the holidays? I must say that I did a good job, I enjoyed some goodies, I just made sure that I had very small portion sizes of it. Portion control is the real key to staying fit. I also played some fun games with my son and newphews to burn off the cookies that I ate; I boxed against them on their Wii game (that game is a very good workout) .

Well now that thats over we need to concentrate on our goals for the new year. I am looking for people who are ready to make the changes needed to become a "Healthier You" in 2008.

I have finally made up my mind that I am going to the gym. I need to take off 15 more pounds and I know that that is the only way for that to happen therefore I am finally going to do it no matter what!!!

What are some of your thoughts for the new year?

Hello ALL How was your Thanksgiving?

Hello Everyone,

I hope that you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving, how did you all do with your eating plans. This time of year is the hardest for everyone. Please do not get so wraped up with the Holidays that you forget to eat right. I am not saying that we can’t eat all of the goodies, just don’t have seconds. Remember to drink a full glass of water before you eat and eat slowly. Some people do not realize how important it is to take your time when you are eating… eating slow gives your stomach a chance to tell your mind that you have had enough. When you eat to fast you don’t allow you stomach time to send this message to your mind; by the time your stomach does tell your mind, you are so full that your stomach hurts and your blood sugar level is high.

What are some of the trick that you all use to stop yourself from over eating during the holiday seasons?
